La Pasqua è particolarmente sentita ad Assisi.
Il Giovedì Santo è il giorno in cui si ricorda l'Ultima Cena di Gesù e la sua preghiera sul monte Getsemani: nella Città Serafica, si celebra la Messa Solenne del Crisma, in cui vengono benedetti i Santi Oli che verranno utilizzati per celebrare i sacramenti durante l'anno.
La sera, dopo la prima messa del triduo pasquale, i fedeli visitano le numerose chiese di Assisi per pregare a cospetto del Santissimo Sacramento.
In seguito, in ricordo dell'antica lauda trecentesca della Scavigliazione, si svolge la cerimonia della Deposizione del Cristo.Se rimani ad Assisi, il venerdì mattina puoi partecipare alla processione durante la quale la statua del Cristo Morto viene spostata dalla Cattedrale di San Rufino alla Basilica di San Francesco, con delle tappe intermedie nei monasteri di clausura.
La sera del Venerdì Santo ad Assisi si prega nel corso della storica e suggestiva processione del Cristo morto: una processione accompagnata da fiaccole, alla quale partecipano tutte le confraternite di Assisi: il corteo parte dalla Cattedrale di San Rufino solo con la statua della Madonna Addolorata.
Dopo la tappa nella Basilica di San Francesco viene condotta in processione anche la statua del Cristo Morto.

Easter is a very important celebration in Assisi.
The Holy Thursday is the day recalling the Last Supper of Jesus and his prayer on the Mount Gethsemane. The Seraphic Town is going to host the celebration of the Solemn Mass of Chrism, with the blessing of the Holy Oils that will be used to celebrate the sacraments during the year.
In the evening, after the first mass of the Easter triduum, believers are going to visit the several churches of Assisi to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
Later, the ceremony of Christ’s Deposition is going to take place in memory of the ancient 14 th century Lauda of Scavigliazione.If you stay in Assisi, on Good Friday’s morning you could participate in the procession during which the statue of the Dead Christ will be transferred from the Cathedral of St. Rufino to the Basilica of St. Francis, with intermediate stages in the cloistered convents.
On the Good Friday’s evening there will be a prayer during the historical and inspiring procession of the Dead Christ: a procession accompanied by torches that will see the participation of all confraternities of Assisi. The procession will start from the Cathedral of St. Rufino just with the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows.
After the stop in the St. Francis Basilica the statue of the Dead Christ will be also carried in the procession.
