"Il linguaggio del vento" di Sestilio Burattini

Un viaggio tra le bellezze di Montefalco attraverso le opere di Sestilio Burattini disseminate tra le strade, le piazze, i luoghi storici e culturali della "Ringhiera dell'Umbria": è "Il linguaggio del vento", la mostra itinerante del famoso scultore umbro.
L'esposizione, che sarà visitabile dal 19 marzo al 15 giugno, prevede l'installazione di 12 opere monumentali nel centro della città e altre 33 opere minori all'interno delle gallerie dedicate all'arte contemporanea del Museo di San Francesco.
Al termine della mostra, Sestilio Burattini donerà a Montefalco un'opera per testimoniare l'importanza di quest'iniziativa, che coniuga il pregio artistico e il linguaggio dell'artista alle forme di uno dei "Borghi più belli d'Italia".
Sestilio Burattini è nato a Magione, dove vive e lavora. Ha insegnato tecniche di marmo e pietre dure presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Perugia, della quale è accademico di merito. Le sue opere si trovano in collezioni private e pubbliche, in Italia e all'estero.

A journey amongst the beautiful sights of Montefalco through Sestilio Burattini's works, which have been placed in the streets, piazzas, as well as historical and cultural sites throughout the town known as the "Balcony of Umbria": it's "Il linguaggio del vento" ("The language of the wind"), the travelling exhibition by the famous Umbrian sculptor.
The exhibition, which can be visited from the 19th March until the 15th June, has installations of 12 monumental works in the town centre and a further 33 minor works inside the contemporary art galleries at the Museo di San Francesco.
At the conclusion of the exhibition, Sestilio Burattini will be donating one of the pieces to the town, to show the importance of this initiative, which joins together the artistic value and artist's language to the shapes and spaces of one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy".
Sestilio Burattini was born in Magione, where he still lives and works. He taught marble and pietre dure sculpting techniques at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Perugia (Academy of Fine Arts), of which he is "accademico di merito". His works are found in both public and private collections, in Italy and abroad.
