Christmas in Foligno

The Quintana Town will take on the Christmas atmosphere thanks to the many scheduled appointments during the whole Christmas holiday time.

Cribs, markets and many other initiatives are waiting for you between December and January in Foligno and in other cities of the area. 

Artistic and living cribs 

Foligno

• Colle dei Cappuccini
  Artistic crib: This is a small jewel for kids and adults, with particular messages and totally renewed.
  From 19th to 23rd December and from 26th December to 6th January
  Opening times: in the morning only after the 9.30 mass in the working days, in the afternoon from 5 to 7 pm 
   
• Saint Primo and Feliciano Parish, Budino, District of Foligno
  Artistic crib: one of the main crib's feature is to respect the landscape, built according to the typical Umbrian farming culture with a remarkable attention to details. 
  The performance is characterized by over 150 mechanized movements both for characters and for animals, with reference to the ancient Umbrian trades. 
  From 25 December 2016 to 8 January 2017
  Time: 10.30 am -12 pm/3 pm – 7.30 pm Holidays; 3 – 7.30 pm on pre-Festival days; 4 – 6 pm in the working days; on 31st December from 3 to 6 pm.
  On 6 January 2017 at 3.30 pm: Three Kings' blessing, Crib's blessing and performance of the Anteas Choir inside the church.

Gualdo Cattaneo

• Marcellano, Gualdo Cattaneo district
  Living crib: there are a hundred of characters animating the re-enactment of Nativity and who perform life scenes of the ancient Palestine. 
  When the night will come, flares and lamps will turn on, the comet will appear in the sky and the cave where Giuseppe and Maria found a shelter and where Jesus was born will suddenly lighten.

Spello

• 3rd edition of Celebrating Christmas in Spello and its surroundings:  In the Christmas time, the town will turn into a fascinating open-air crib. Niches, shops' corners, artistic laboratories will be the perfect background for setting up scenes that we can typically find in cribs.
  This event gives the chance to districts, alleys, squares, streets and monuments to host cribs of different shape, dimension, tradition or symbology able to convey the true Christmas' atmosphere to several tourists and to the Spello citizens themselves. Concerts, the living crib, contests of cribs and Christmas' trees will make holidays live together with exhibitions, exhibitions and markets. There will also be the Christmas of kids with Santa Claus and the Epiphany along the town's streets and squares, to spend time together in the name of solidarity.
