Tra le opere più preziose dell’esposizione: una tavola con La Madonna del Latte riferita a un maestro abruzzese della metà del Duecento e un nucleo di sculture (in marmo, terracotta, legno, bronzo) eseguite da artisti attivi tra il XV e XVI secolo, tra cui Antonio Elia, Gregorio di Lorenzo, Niccolò de’ Conti, Agostino de’ Fondulis, Raffaello da Montelupo.
Altrettanto ricca è la raccolta di dipinti del Cinque, Sei e Settecento.
La presenza di pittori più o meno noti, appartenenti a “scuole” diverse, permetterà al visitatore di comprendere la peculiare e complessa “geografia artistica” italiana.
La scuola veneta è rappresentata da Giovanni Cariani, Felice Brusasorci, Girolamo Forabosco e Sebastiano Ricci; quella lombarda da Stefano Danedi detto il Montalto, Francesco Cairo e Giacomo Ceruti; quella fiorentina da Zanobi Poggini e Santi di Tito.
Nella quadreria spiccano le opere di pittori celebri come Guido Reni (bolognese), Battistello Caracciolo (napoletano) e Pier Francesco Mola (ticinese attivo a Roma).
Così intesa la mostra darà conto dell’evoluzione degli stili ed offrirà un’ampia panoramica sui soggetti affrontati dagli artisti, dal tema sacro ai generi della natura morta (Meiffren Comte) e del ritratto (Giuseppe Vermiglio).

A striking journey through the history of Italian art from the Middle Ages to the late Baroque: it’s the exhibition “A journey into the Italian art” from 31st May to 15th July 2018 at the Logge dei Tiratori della Lana in Gubbio.
Among the most valuable artworks of the exhibition there are: a canvas with the Nursing Madonna attributed to an artist from Abruzzo of the second half of 1200 and a group of sculptures (of marble, terracotta, wood and bronze) made by artists active between the 15th and 16th century, including Antonio Elia, Gregorio di Lorenzo, Niccolò de’ Conti, Agostino de’ Fondulis, Raffaello da Montelupo.
The collection of paintings from 1500, 1600 and 1700 is also very rich.
The presence of more or less known painters, belonging to different “schools”, will allow the visitor to understand the Italian peculiar and complex “artistic geography”.
The Venetian school is represented by Giovanni Cariani, Felice Brusasorci, Girolamo Forabosco and Sebastiano Ricci; the Lombard school by Stefano Danedi called il Montalto, Francesco Cairo and Giacomo Ceruti; the Florentine school by Zanobi Poggini and Santi di Tito.
The artworks of famous painters such as Guido Reni (from Bologna), Battistello Caracciolo (from Naples) and Pier Francesco Mola (from Ticino and active in Rome) stand out in the painting collection.
The exhibition, understood in this way, will represent the evolution of styles and will offer a broad overview of the subjects dealt with by the artists, from the sacred theme to the genres of still life (Meiffren Comte) and of portrait (Giuseppe Vermiglio).
