Rievocazioni, sfide medievali, antichi sapori e ancora rappresentazioni storiche, mercati d'altri tempi, concerti e mostre: questo e molto altro ancora è il calendario che ogni anno arricchisce il Palio dei Terzieri di Trevi.
Dopo la cerimonia di apertura dei festeggiamenti ottobrini, la città s'immerge in una suggestiva ed emozionante cornice che dà il via ai "Riti Medievali".
Alla vigilia del Palio, un corteo di oltre 500 figuranti in costumi risalenti al 1200-1350 attraversa le vie cittadine illuminate da torce e addobbate di bandiere, stendardi e gonfaloni, in un'atmosfera unica dal sapore antico.
Cuore della manifestazione resta la sfida tra i Terzieri che rievoca la Rinascita della Città dopo la distruzione del 1214, causata dagli spoletini per volontà del Duca Theopoldo, come riportato negli Annali Ecclesiastici. Per ogni Terziere gareggiano venti giovani "Portacolori", che si alternano in più staffette nell'ardua e avvincente corsa, durante la quale uno traina e gli altri spingono con tutte le forze un carro del peso di 430 Kg.
A completare il programma giochi popolari, il torneo nazionale di tiro con arco storico, mercati medievali e le taverne nel cuore del centro storico che, per tutto il mese, resteranno aperte proponendo le eccellenze stagionali del territorio, tra cui il famoso Sedano Nero e l'Olio Extravergine d'Oliva.

Re-enactments, medieval challenges, ancient tastes and historical performances, markets of past times, concerts, exhibitions, and many other events are included in the calendar that every year enriches the Palio dei Terzieri in Trevi.
After the opening ceremony of October's celebrations, the city will immerse itself in an inspiring and exciting setting that will give life to "Medieval Rites".
On the Palio's Eve, a parade of over 500 participants wearing costumes dating back to 1200-1350 will go through city's streets, illuminated by torches and decorated with flags, banners and standards in an ancient and unique atmosphere. Heart of the event will remain the challenge among Terzieri (Districts) re-enacting the City's Rebirth after its destruction in 1214, caused by Spoleto's inhabitants by the Duke Theopoldo's will, as detailed in the ecclesiastical annals. For each Terziere there will be twenty young "Colour bearers" competitors, who will alternate in many relays along the difficult and enthralling race, during which one will pull and the others will push a 430-kg carriage as strong as possible.
The schedule is completed by popular games, the historical national archery competition, medieval markets and taverns in the heart of the historical center that will be open all the month offering the seasonal local excellences, among which the famous Black Celery and the extra virgin Olive Oil.
