Dal 26 luglio al 5 settembre si susseguiranno concerti sinfonici, manifestazioni di musica sacra e corale, opera, recital, concerti cameristici, eventi multimediali.
Le numerose anime che convivono nel Festival Federico Cesi si fondono in una proposta artistica ricca, con oltre 50 concerti, di cui 30 a ingresso gratuito. Grande musica, enogastronomia, mostre, workshop e maratone musicali all’aperto daranno vita al Suono dei Borghi.
La musica non solo come atto di pura arte, ma fusione ed esaltazione della bellezza architettonica e paesaggistica di città e luoghi dell’Umbria che si incastonano come perle preziose nel landscape italiano.
Da qui nasce il progetto Musica e Cinema che omaggia due grandi protagonisti del ‘900 come Federico Fellini e Buster Keaton nella terrazza umbra dalla bellezza mozzafiato della città di Trevi, ma anche Beethoven 250, serie di concerti ispirati alla produzione immortale del suo genio, e Music&Wine, eventi che vedono la musica protagonista con visite in cantina, degustazioni, accessi a luoghi solitamente chiusi al pubblico.
La Guitar Week proporrà non solo i tradizionali concerti ma anche la Mostra di Liuteria, con pillole quotidiane di momenti musicali gratuiti in Villa con Liuteria in Concerto.
I Main Concerts serali ospiteranno grandi solisti provenienti dai più prestigiosi enti nazionali come l’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, il Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, il Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, l’Orchestra Rai di Torino, la Cappella Musicale Sistina di Roma.
Il Festival omaggerà il genio femminile con concerti dedicati alle composizioni di artiste come Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelsshon, Elsa Respighi e gli inediti di Gilda Ruta, pianista privilegiata di Arturo Toscanini.
Il concerto di chiusura é dedicato allo Stabat Mater di Pergolesi nella formazione originale per Soli, Ensemble di archi, basso continuo ed ensemble corale.
Fondato nel 2008, il Festival trae ispirazione dalla figura di Federico Cesi, uomo di scienza umbro, fondatore nel 1603 dell’Academia Lynceorum. Luogo d’elezione per il Festival Federico Cesi Musica Urbis è il meraviglioso territorio della Valle Umbra e delle Terre Arnolfe, coinvolgendo entrambe le Province di Perugia e Terni.
Le attività didattiche e concertistiche per gli studenti ospiti si terranno a Trevi nella splendida seicentesca Villa Fabri, nel Complesso monumentale di San Francesco, presso il Teatro Comunale Clitunno e Palazzo Lucarini, mentre attività concertistiche saranno dislocate tra Spello e Acquasparta.

Symphonic concerts, sacred and choral music events, opera, recitals, chamber concerts, multimedia events will follow one another from July 26 to September 5.
The numerous souls that coexist in the Federico Cesi Festival come together in a rich artistic proposal, with over 50 concerts, 30 of which are with free admission. Great music, food and wine, exhibitions, workshops and outdoor musical marathons will give life to the Suono dei Borghi (lit. "Sound of Villages").
Music in this festival is not only an act of pure art, but also a fusion and exaltation of the architectural and scenic beauty of Umbrian cities and places that are set like precious pearls in the Italian landscape.
Hence, in the breathtaking beauty of the Umbrian terrace in the city of Trevi, the Musica e Cinema (lit. Music and Cinema) project pays homage to Federico Fellini and Buster Keaton, two great protagonists of the 20th century, but also to Beethoven – with “Beethoven 250” through a series of concerts inspired by the immortal production of his genius – and Music & Wine through a series of events in which music will be the protagonist along with visits to the wineries, tastings, access to places usually closed to the public.
The Guitar Week will offer not only traditional concerts but also the Violin-making Exhibition, with daily pills of free musical moments in the Villa with “Liuteria in Concerto”.
The evening Main Concerts will host great soloists from the most prestigious national institutions such as the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the Teatro dell'Opera of Rome, the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa, the Rai Orchestra of Turin, the Sistine Music Chapel of Rome.
The Festival will pay homage to the female genius with concerts dedicated to the compositions of artists such as Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelsshon, Elsa Respighi and the unpublished works by Gilda Ruta, privileged pianist of Arturo Toscanini.
The closing concert is dedicated to Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in the original formation for Soli, string ensemble, basso continuo and choral ensemble.
Founded in 2008, the Festival draws inspiration from the figure of Federico Cesi, Umbrian, a man of science and founder of the Lynceorum Academy in 1603. Place of choice for the Federico Cesi Music Urbis Festival is the wonderful territory of the Umbrian Valley and Terre Arnolfe, involving both the provinces of Perugia and Terni.
The educational and concert activities for the guest students will be held in Trevi in the beautiful seventeenth-century Villa Fabri, in the monumental complex of Saint Francis, at the Teatro Comunale Clitunno and Palazzo Lucarini, while concert activities will be located between Spello and Acquasparta.
